The Hot Springs Village
Property Owner's Association presented a program of
Patriotism and Remembrance
on 9-11-2002 at 9:00 AM.
Major General Bill B. Lefler
(Retired) welcomed the full audience in the Ponce de Leon Porte Cochere.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10483 posted the National Colors.
The Village Men's Chorus under the direction of Dick Fulton provided stirring
choral numbers.
Remarks by Ron Schardt, Vice President of the POA Board of Directors described
what he would remember from 9-11-02 and Dave Johnston, POA General Manager
provided tribute to the Hot Springs Village Police and Fire Departments.
The Reverend George Tanner (Retired) offered the prayer.
Major General Bill B. Lefler (Retired) described his experiences in the World
Trade Center as well as his former office in the destroyed section of the
Pentagon
Choral Offerings by the Crystal Chimes Chorus directed by Jim Pepper concluded
with the audience joining in in the singing of
"God Bless America."
A Gun Salute by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10483 coincided with the
playing of Taps by two trumpets to provide an echo.
